There are 91,454 housing units in the entire province of Surigao del Sur. Bislig City is the most numbered reaching 19,175 count, obviously because of the presence of the PICOP Resources Incorporated (PRI) in the city. Tandag ranked next with 18, 101 houses, probably because of its being the capital town of the province.
Congestions are now observed in the municipalities of Bislig, Tandag, Cantilan, Lanuza and Barobo due to rapid increase in population and some are indigenous peoples coming from the hinterlands because of unstable peace and order in the upland.
The need for a housing project, in Barobo and Bislig were partially addressed. The completion and the award of the 50 housing units in Mancorogo, Bislig has somehow eased the city. Barobo Resettlement Project is already on going and Tandag Resettlement project has completed the documentation requirements are now for publication.
